I first heard these three questions in another twelve step fellowship, but my sex addiction is often driven by fear, which can also drive me to try and take control when I don't need to:

1. Does it have to be done?
2. Does it have to be done now?
3. Does it have to be done by me?

It's surprising how often, when I actually stop to think about these questions, the answer is no.
