You know me well, we’ve been together since childhood
I’ve been there for you and I know what you’ve been through
I’ve felt your pain and I’ve shared your guilt
I’ve never judged you and I love you still
We've been through so much, we're inseparable
We can't be apart for too long, it's just inevitable
For better or worse, in sickness and death
Together, forever until we take our last breath
You know you need me, can't make it on your own
Look at where we are now, how much we have grown
You owe it all to me, working night and day
I helped you close your eyes and I took away the pain
I'm the chemical storm, dragging you along
How long till you realize that you were never alone
You feel me always by your side prowling like a shadow
So, wherever you may go, know that I will always follow
You can't lock me away forever, you can't push me aside
Your soul's my home, my shelter, it's where I reside
Where I call all the shots and I guide your whole life
Because I'm the parasite… that lives inside your mind
Help me get through another day
Just grab my hand and take me away
Clean the stains that I have inside
My beautiful ugly parasite
Don’t think, just let me do all the work for you
No sense questioning why your sky is not blue
Give me the keys to your vault, let me in into your brain
To your thoughts to your soul, to the things that keep you sane
I take care of every little thing that keeps you up at night
I will cling to your fears and won't go without a fight
You can't deny me or ignore me, I'm just too real
You can't back out now, you can't forget our deal
I guide you, I save you, I help you when you're down
I can make you smile when your life is just a frown
I will feed from your distress, getting stronger every day
You might feel regret today but tomorrow you'll be OK
Now I promise you this, with blood on my hands
I will keep you from falling down, keep you safe from harm
If you just surrender your freedom and your will
I will make sure that your soul will never feel
Sadness and frustration will all be in the past
But you can’t delay, there’s no time, we have to move fast
You need to let go and leave yesterday behind
